Iso E Super has a remarkably pleasant scent—dry and woody, like cedar, with facets of amber, vetiver, patchouli, and a subtle phenolic nuance. At the same time, it's surprisingly transparent and neutral, without the heavy, earthy feel typical of natural woods. While Iso E Super's scent isn't overly intense, it's rich, versatile, and never overpowering—you won't find anyone who finds it overpowering.
So Iso E Super is a woody, ambery, musky synthetic note, soft and dry with a cedarwood tinge, then takes on a sandalwood curve with a light amber note and sometimes a hint of vetiver and a very light hint of patchouli.
Iso E Super has proven itself well in almost all types of perfumes, but its highest concentration can still be found in many woody fragrances for men: 48% in Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce and 55% in Terre d'Hermes. Often, a high content of Iso E Super is accompanied by vetiver: 45% in Lalique Encre Noir and 48% in Kenzo Air. In Perles de Lalique, it reaches 80%.
